How it works:
- Every 5 minutes, up to 288 times a day, the Dexcom G6 Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) System provides a real-time look at your glucose readings.
- Trend arrows and vivid colors displayed on your smart device show you the speed and direction your glucose is heading – so it’s easier to make diabetes management decisions.
Three Options for Sensor Placement:
Dexcom G6 is available for use on three different parts of the body, giving users more flexibility.
Abdomen
This location is easier to cover with clothing, which may appeal to some individuals. It is available for ages 2 years and older.
Back of Upper Arm
This location is easy to reach and may be an ideal option for people who are active. It is available for ages 2 years and older.
Upper Buttocks
This location is available for use by children ages 2-17 years old.
How To Use:
Step 1: Set Up App
- Download and open the Dexcom app
- Follow onscreen setup instructions
- Wait 2 hours
Step 2: Set up Receiver
- Take receiver out of box
- Turn on receiver
- Follow onscreen instructions
Step 3: Insert Sensor
- Take applicator with built-in sensor out of sensor box
- Choose sensor site
- Use applicator to insert built-in sensor
Step 4: Attach Transmitter
- Take transmitter out of box
- Snap in transmitter
Step 5: Start Sensor on Receiver
- Wait up to 30 minutes for pairing
- Tap Start Sensor to begin 2-hour warmup
- Wait 2 hours:
- When complete, tap Next to go to home screen
- Now you get G6 readings, alarm/alerts
