Ambroxol syrup

What Ambroxol is used for:

• Ambroxol is an expectorant/mucolytic used in the treatment of acute and chronic respiratory Disorders associated with abnormal mucus secretion and impaired mucus transport.

Do not take Ambroxol if:

• You are hypersensitive to any of the components.

Possible side effects:

• Ambroxol is generally well-tolerated.


• Mild upper gastrointestinal side effects (primarily Heartburn, dyspepsia, and occasionally nausea, Vomiting) have been reported.


• Allergic reactions, primarily skin rash, have been rarely reported.

Other medicines and Ambroxol:

• Avoid concomitant use of Ambroxol with antibiotics.

How to take Ambroxol:

• Ambroxol syrup: Adults and children over 12 years: 10 ml three times daily; to be increased to 20 ml twice daily in severe conditions and in the initial treatment of chronic conditions up to 14 Days.


• Ambroxol syrup should be taken at mealtimes.
