Irbesartan 300 mg tablet
What Irbesartan is used for:
- Irbesartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) indicated for: 
 
- Treatment of hypertension, to lower blood pressure.
 
- Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of fatal and nonfatal cardiovascular events, primarily strokes and myocardial infarctions.
 
- Treatment of diabetic nephropathy in hypertensive patients with type 2 diabetes,
 
- an elevated serum creatinine, and proteinuria.
 
Do not take Irbesartan if:
- Hypersensitivity to Irbesartan 
 
- You are taking aliskiren with diabetes.
 
Warnings & Precautions:
- Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Irbesartan to monitor:
 
- Kidney functions 
 
- Potassium levels 
 
- Possible side effects 
 
- These include
 
- Hypotension 
 
- Dizziness
 
- Nausea, vomiting
 
Other medicines and Irbesartan:
- Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all medicines you take, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins and herbal supplements.
 
- Increased risk of lithium toxicity when taken together
 
- Increased risk of kidney damage and reduction of its effects when taken with Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs) and COX-2 inhibitors (like ibuprofen, ketoprfen, celecoxib)
 
- Not recommended use with potassium supplements to avoid increase of potassium levels in blood.
 
How to take Irbesartan:
- Adults above 18 years of age:
 
- The usual dose is: 1 tablet daily for both hypertension and diabetic neuropathy
 
- Irbesartan tablet can be taken with or without food 
 
- It can be taken any time of the day 
 
- Do not break the tablet in half 
 
How to store Irbesartan:
- Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
 
- Store at Room Temperature [77°F (25°C)]. 
 
- Do not store above 30°
