- Carpazio® is classified as Anticonvulsant / Antiepileptic
- Works by blocking of voltage-sensitive sodium channels.
- Carpazio® is indicated for the treatment of partial seizures with or without secondarily generalised tonic-clonic seizures.
- Carpazio® is indicated for use as monotherapy or adjunctive therapy in adults and in children of 6 years of age and above.
- Food does not affect the rate and extent of absorption of oxcarbazepine, therefore, Carpazio® can be taken with or without food.
- Carpazio® package size: 50 tablets.
How to use:
- Adhere strictly to the doctor or pharmacist's instructions for dosage and administration.
- Dosage may vary according to individual patient needs, including age, health status, and concurrent medication use.
- Maintain consistent medication intake as prescribed.
- Consult your healthcare provider before any changes in dosage to avoid adverse effects.
- Regularity in intake (same time daily) is key.
- Swallow tablets whole with water; avoid crushing or chewing.
- Dosage adjustments may be necessary under specific circumstances as directed by healthcare professionals.
- In case of overdose, seek immediate medical attention.

Carpazio® should be initiated with a dose of 600 mg/day (8-10 mg/kg/day) given in 2 divided doses or as doctor’s instructions
- Children: (6 years and more)
In mono- and adjunctive therapy, Carpazio® should be initiated with a dose of 8-10 mg/kg/day given in 2 divided doses as doctor’s instructions.
Caution & Warnings:
Possible Adverse Reactions
Very common side effects, though not universally experienced, include:
- Dizziness, Fatigue, Nausea and vomiting, diplopia, Somnolence, Headache You can refer to the internal leaflet of the drug for more.
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
