The LED band on the parent unit lights up progressively with the increasing sound intensity coming from the baby. Using the voice-activated setting, the parent unit will only be activated in the presence of sounds detected by the child. There are two channels available to ensure communication between the units and reduce interference. Both units (parent and baby) can run on battery or AC adapter. Range about 150 metres.
