How To Use:

• There is no standard dosage regimen for Metformin XR in managing hyperglycemia for type 2 diabetes patients.


• The dose should be personalized based on individual effectiveness and tolerance, without exceeding the maximum recommended daily dose.


• Initial Dose: 500 mg once daily with the evening meal.


• Dose Adjustment: Increase by 500 mg weekly as needed, up to a maximum of 2000 mg once daily.


• If 2000 mg once daily does not achieve glycemic control, a trial of 1000 mg twice daily may be considered.


• For higher required doses, regular Metformin (not XR) can be used, up to 2550 mg daily, divided into smaller doses.
