What Mometasone Furoate is used for
- Mometasone Furoate is used to reduce redness and itchiness caused by certain skin problems called psoriasis or dermatitis.
 
Do not use Mometasone Furoate
- If you’re allergic to the active substance or any other component of this medicine.
 
- If you have any other skin problems including rosacea, acne, skin atrophy, and dermatitis around the mouth.
 
- On open wounds or skin ulcers.
 
- If you have a skin infection such as cold sores, chickenpox, warts, or shingles.
 
Warnings and precautions
- Talk to your doctor about all your medical conditions before taking this medicine.
 
- Tell your doctor if you condition gets worse.
 
- Tell your doctor if you develop bumps filled with puss on your skin.
 
- This medicine may cause delayed growth in children.
 
- If you have eye problems such as cataracts or glaucoma.
 
Possible side effects
- Stop using this product and seek immediate medical help if you develop a rash; hives; itching; red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin; wheezing; tightness in the chest or throat; trouble breathing, swallowing, or talking; unusual hoarseness; or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, or throat.
 
Stop taking this medicine and call your doctor if you experience:
- Cushing’s syndrome: symptoms include a rapid weight gain, especially of the trunk and face (round face), and general weakness, particularly in children.
 
- Adrenal gland problems: symptoms include upset stomach, vomiting very bad dizziness or passing out, muscle weakness, feeling very tired, mood changes, not hungry, or weight loss.
 
- Thinning of the skin.
 
Other medicines and Mometasone Furoate
- Tell your doctor about all the medicines you are taking including prescription medicine, supplements, and herbal products.
 
How to use Mometasone Furoate 
- This medicine is intended for adults and children aged 2 years and older.
 
- Use as indicated by your doctor.
 
- This medicine is for external use only.
 
- The lotion should only be used on the scalp.
 
- You should not use a large amount on large areas of the body for a long time.
 
- Rub a thin layer carefully into the affected area.
 
How to store Mometasone Furoate 
- Store at room temperature 68 to 77°F (20 to 25°C).
 
- Discard the opened tube with any remaining ointment after 12 weeks.
 
- Keep this medicine out of reach of children.
 
- Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the package. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
