Product Description:
- Flopadex is a prescription medication used to improve urination in men with benign prostatic hyperplasia (enlarged prostate).
How to use:
The recommended dose is 8 mg Capsule once daily and for
some population 4 mg capsule is recommended.
Caution & Warnings:
- Intraoperative Floppy Iris Syndrome: the initiation of Sildosin is not recommended in patients for whom cataract surgery is scheduled.
- Discontinuing treatment with an alpha 1 blockers 1-2 weeks prior to cataract surgery has been recommended but the benefits and duration of stopping the therapy prior to cataract surgery has not been established.
- Orthostatic effects: the incidence of orthostatic effects with silodosin is very low.
- However, a reduction in blood pressure can occur in individual patients in rare cases to syncope.
- Renal impairment: the use of silodosin in patient with severe renal impairment (CLCR>30ml/min) is not recommended. Hepatic impairment: the use in severe hepatic impairment is not recommended.
- Carcinoma of prostate: patients thought to have BPH should be examined prior to starting therapy with Silodosin to rule out the presence of Carcinoma of the prostate. Sodium: the medicinal product contains less than 1 mmol sodium (23mg) per capsule, that’s to say essentially “sodium free”
