What Linex Kids is and what it is used for
- Linex Kids supports the balance and function of useful intestinal microflora. Each sachet of powder for oral suspension contains one strain of lactic acid bacteria (Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis BB-12). Linex Kids contains prebiotics: maltodextrin.
What you need to know before you take Linex Kids ?
- TAKE SPECIAL CARE with Linex Kids
- Before the start of therapy parents should consult a physician:
- If the child's body temperature exceeds 38 °C,
- If they notice occult blood or mucus in the child’s stool,
- If diarrhea lasts for more than two days,
- If the child has intense diarrhea accompanied by dehydration and loss of body weight,
- If diarrhea is accompanied by an intense abdominal pain,
- If the child has diarrhea and other chronic diseases (e.g. diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, AIDS or immunodeficiency states (e.g. HIV infection)).
- Consult your doctor or pharmacist if there is anything you are not sure about.
- DO NOT GIVE Linex Kids to a child, if he/she is allergic (hypersensitive) to the active substance or any of the other ingredients of Linex Kids.
- Lactic acid bacteria in Linex Kids are, like other bacteria, sensitive to antibiotics. If you give Linex Kids to your child concomitantly with antibiotics it is recommended to use it not earlier than three hours after administration of antibiotic.
Taking Linex Kids with food and drink
- It is preferable that children take Linex Kids during meals. Linex Kids should not be taken together with hot beverages.
How to use Linex Kids
Dosage and treatment duration:
- Infants and children up to 2 years of age: one sachet once a day.
- Children aged 2 to 12 years: one sachet one to two times a day (for instance, in the
- morning and in the evening).
Possible side effects
- Like all medicines, Linex Kids can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Undesirable side effects during the use of lactic acid bacteria are very rare (occurring in less than one out of 10,000 patients).
- Hypersensitivity reactions may occur.
