Medela Swing Maxi double electric breast pump is infused with patented and research-based 2-Phase Expression Technology. Through research, Medela has learned that there are two distinct phases of how babies breastfeed. The first phase, known as stimulation phase is when the baby first goes to the breast and sucks fast to initiate the milk flow. The second phase of expression occurs after milk flow or œlet-down begins. During this phase, baby breastfeeds at a slower suck rate for continued milk flow. At Medela, we integrated this natural sucking behaviour into our breast pumps to create Harmony the first manual breast pump to offer 2-Phase Expression Technology. Harmony's single vacuum manual settings are easy to adjust, making the pumping experience convenient and more comfortable. How to use:

• 
  Use the Swing maxi breast pump only for its intended use as described in this manual.
• Never operate an electrical device if it has a damaged cord or plug, if it is not working properly, if it has been dropped or damaged, or dropped into water.
• Do not use the Swing maxi breast pump while bathing or showering.
• Do not use the Swing maxi breast pump while sleeping or overly drowsy.
• This is a single user product. Use by more than one person may present a health risk.
• Do not drive whilst hands-free pumping.
• Supervision is necessary when the Swing maxi breast pump is used in the vicinity of children.
• Contact your lactation consultant or physician if you experience problems or pain.
• Portable and mobile radio frequency communications equipment can affect the Swing maxi breast pump.

Caution & Warnings:

• 
  Only use the mains adapter supplied with the Swing maxi.
• Make sure the voltage of the mains adapter is compatible with the power source.
• Do not hold the pump set by the bottle. This can lead to blockage of the milk ducts and engorgement
• Wipe the breast with a warm washcloth (do not use alcohol).
• Always disconnect the Swing maxi from the power source after expression.
• Only fill the bottle to the 150 ml mark.
