Olsar Plus 40/25 mg 28 Tab
product name
- Ulsar Plus, 25/40 mg, for treating blood pressure - 28 tablets
The scientific name
- Olmesartan 40 mg + hydrochlorothiazide 25 mg tablets
Ulsar Plus 25/40 Tablets belongs to
- Antihypertensive medications
How olmesartan and hydrochlorothiazide work
- Olmesartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) and works by blocking the effect of angiotensin II in the body, which causes blood vessel constriction.
- As a result, olmesartan relaxes blood vessels, lowering blood pressure and increasing the supply of blood and oxygen to the heart.
- Hydrochlorothiazide inhibits the transport of sodium chloride into the blood, causing more sodium to be excreted in the kidneys along with the accompanying fluid, thus increasing diuresis, which in turn reduces blood volume and ultimately blood pressure.
- With long-term use, sustained reduction of arterial pressure by a thiazide diuretic (TZD) is thought to occur through a decrease in vascular resistance.
Medical uses of Ulsar Plus 25/40 Tablets
- Treatment of high blood pressure.
- You will be given olmesartan/hydrochlorothiazide only if olmesartan medoxomil alone does not control your blood pressure.
- High blood pressure is a common condition in which the long-term force of blood against the walls of the arteries is high enough that it can eventually cause health problems, such as heart disease.

- It is important to continue taking olmesartan/hydrochlorothiazide until your doctor tells you to stop.
- Doses may be changed in special circumstances, so always follow your doctor or pharmacist's instructions.
