Product Description:



  • Oral Rehydration Salts contain sugar and different types of salts that belong to a group of medicines known as oral electrolytes.

  • It is used to replenish lost salts and fluids in order to ease short term diarrhea and to prevent dehydration (loss of body fluids) that can happen as a result of diarrhea, vomiting, travel, exercise and excessive heat.

  • Signs of dehydration include: crying without tears, urinating less often, drowsiness, decreased physical activity, dry mouth and a sunken soft area on the top of a baby’s head.


How To Use:


Sachet of powder to be diluted in 1 litter of clean water.


Child under 24 months:



  • 50 to 100 ml after each loose stool (approximately 500 ml daily).


Child from 2 to 10 years:



  • 100 to 200 ml after each loose stool (approximately 1000 ml daily).


Child over 10 years and adult:



  • 200 to 400 ml after each loose stool (approximately 2000 ml daily).


Warnings and precautions:



  • Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you develop allergic reactions such as shortness of breath, skin rash, swelling of the face or neck, decreased blood pressure and dizziness.

  • If your child refuses to take the Oral Rehydration Salts then try to substitute the medication with water (cooled boiled water for babies aged under 1 year) or a juice. Talk to your doctor if they still refuse to take any fluids.



  • Avoid providing babies with any feeds except breastfeeds within the first 24 hours of diarrhea onset.

  • Avoid milk and solid foods in children within the first 24 hours of diarrhea onset.

  • You can give your child water or juice to drink as usual if they start feeling better. Make sure to continue giving them the rehydration salts after every loose stool.

  • Make sure to resume normal feeding after 24 hours of feeling better.

  • Your child may continue to have some mild diarrhea for up to a month after having gastroenteritis (tummy bug infection). Make sure to follow up with the doctor.

  • Do not take oral rehydration salts for more than 2–3 days, unless your doctor has recommended to.



  • Do not mix the medication with juice or milk or any other additives or sugar. Use water only to prepare the solution.

  • Make sure to add the correct amount of water when preparing the medicine in order not to affect fluids and salts balance in the body.

  • Tell your doctor if you have diabetes or liver or kidney problems.

  • Tell your doctor if you have severe diarrhea or are not able to drink fluids.

  • Tell your doctor if you are on a low salt or potassium diet.
