Product Description:

• Xcard (Apixaban) is an oral anticoagulant (blood thinner) that belongs to the class of direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs). It is primarily used to:


• Prevent blood clots in patients with atrial fibrillation (non-valvular) to reduce the risk of stroke.


• Treat and prevent deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE).


• Prevent DVT and PE after hip or knee replacement surgery.

How To Use:

Dosage: Follow the dosage prescribed by your healthcare provider. Common doses are:

• 5 mg twice daily: Standard dose for most conditions.


• 5 mg twice daily: For patients with reduced kidney function, low body weight, or advanced age (usually over 80 years).

Administration:

• Swallow the tablet whole with water.


• Can be taken with or without food.


• Take at the same times each day to ensure consistent blood levels.

Missed Dose:

• If a dose is missed, take it as soon as you remember.


• Do not take two doses at the same time to make up for the missed one.

Warnings And Precautions:

Bleeding Risk:

• Xcard increases the risk of bleeding. Inform your doctor if you notice unusual bruising, prolonged bleeding, or blood in urine or stool.

Surgical Procedures:
