Rifaximin is an intestinal antibiotic used to treat Irritable Bowel Syndrome with predominant diarrhea, traveler's diarrhea in adults and Hepatic Encephalopathy.
How to use:
Always take Xifaxan exactly as your doctor has told you.
You can take Xifaxan with or without food.
Take the tablets with a glass of water.
If you forget to take a dose, take the missed dose as soon as you remember and take your next dose at its regular time.
Caution & Warnings:
If you are using activated charcoal, take Xifaxan at least 2 hours after taking charcoal.
Do not by yourself interrupt the period of treatment prescribed.
Consult your doctor before taking Xifaxan, if you have a bowel obstruction, or if you have diarrhea accompanied by fever or blood in the stool.
